Upload a photo; Phantom Trace finds the person behind it: names, social profiles, public records and safety red flags. I led it from the first market research to launch, and built the Angular front end and the AWS it runs on.

The product

Know who you’re meeting before you meet them

Phantom Trace is a facial recognition search tool. Upload one photo and it uncovers a person’s digital footprint: their name, age and where they live, their social media, employers and education, and public records including criminal history and the sex offender registry.

It’s built for the moments when appearances matter: a first date with a stranger, a new caretaker for a parent, a play-date with a family you haven’t met.

My role

From a TAM slide to a live beta

I joined at the concept stage and owned the product from there: discovery, market research and TAM analysis, the investor pitch decks and the pitch itself.

I ran a four-person Agile team through planning and development, owning the roadmap, user stories, priorities and milestones, and co-architected the platform with the developers: the APIs behind reverse facial-recognition search through to how findings are shown.
